These assessments are extremely important to get your child on the right path early in life while certain windows of development are at their peak, as well as to document information that is very important to know as your child gets older (helps prepare for upcoming years to optimize life outcomes).
Sample neurodevelopmental diagnostics might include Autism, ADHD, specific learning disorders such as dyslexia or dysgraphia, cerebral palsy, autoimmune-related concerns such as PANDAS/PANDA/Long Covid or other, and more.
There can be a fine line between a neurodevelopmental disorder (thought to have started prior to or at birth) and an acquired disorder (happens from a medical/brain insult or change after birth), as “epigenetics” shows that we are all susceptible to developing problems/concerns under some environmental conditions or exposures. As an example, a child may be born with an autoimmune concern or vulnerability that gets optimally expressed after exposure to something, and this can impact development.
I will stay with you/your child for as long as it takes to get them on the right path. Sometimes answers evolve with extra steps, testing, and triaging with other medical professionals (e.g., neurologists, immunologists, pediatricians), but I promise to stay with you for as long as it takes and to be here throughout the journey (be it months or years). When it comes to neurodevelopmental concerns, there are needs at different stages of life that change, and it is my job to prepare you for these and help you/your child through them.
I provide advanced neuropsychological assessments to identify and address brain-related concerns. With over 20 years of expertise, I help you understand your cognitive health and create strategies to improve daily function and well-being.
