Long COVID

Long COVID Treatment in Sudbury, MA

I have had many Long COVID patients since 2022 and have witnessed the struggles and improvements in my patients over these years after treatments.  Long Covid happens to people of all ages, and young women can be susceptible for unique reasons, in addition to those with autoimmune concerns and pre-existing conditions. You/your loved one may have symptoms such as inattention, brain fog, body pain, chronic fatigue, etc., after exposure to SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 and the symptoms have remained, leading to you seeking help.

Assessment

We have learned a lot about Long Covid in the past few years from the standpoint of inflammation and metabolic dysfunctions, in particular after infection. I wear a few hats for you as your “case manager,” guiding the bloodwork and medical testing that you need, and also your neuropsychologist and psychologist for additional assessment and treatment services.

I have worked/work with scientists and labs who took in my patients after bloodwork. First, we look for evidence that someone was/is positive for COVID-19 via serology, then we look at the biomarkers in the blood thought to be related to Long Covid, and then we can treat depending on the nature of those biomarkers.

If you/your loved one is coming to see me, you are likely experiencing brain-related concerns secondary to getting COVID-19, and may have emotional or functional changes as well. You are likely confused as to what is happening and suspect it might have been COVID-19-related. Completing a neuropsychological assessment is a good idea so we can gauge what is going on with your brain and cognition for treatment purposes. This is also a good idea, so we can repeat testing at later dates to monitor progress. Some may also require neuropsychological, psychological, and/or functional assessments for short or long-term medical leave, and I can help with that as well.

Treatment

Medical treatments might include injections and medications (referred out for those), and you will receive psychoeducation and information regarding diet, exercise, and neuropsychological and psychological approaches tailored to your unique assessment results.
